IGIS Asset Management has undertaken a strategic organizational restructuring, effective February 1, 2022, to secure new growth drivers and strengthen its alternative investment capabilities. The firm has introduced an Infrastructure Division and enhanced the independence of key strategic units responsible for shaping its long-term vision.

Expansion to Eight Key Divisions

With this restructuring, IGIS Asset Management has expanded its divisional structure from seven to eight units to ensure operational independence and specialized expertise. The updated structure includes Investment, Infrastructure, Capital Markets, REITs, AI, Overseas Asset Management, Domestic Asset Management, and Corporate Management. The firm operates under a profit center model, allowing each division to manage its own operations with financial accountability and autonomy.

New Infrastructure Division to Drive Growth in Renewable Energy Investments

The newly established Infrastructure Division consolidates all infrastructure-related teams and functions that were previously dispersed within the Investment Division. By integrating these operations, IGIS aims to scale its renewable energy investments and lead the development of a sustainable ecosystem.

Joonho Bok, currently Head of Investment, will concurrently serve as Head of the Infrastructure Division. This new division is expected to broaden IGIS Asset Management’s investment scope and enhance its strategic focus on infrastructure and sustainability-driven opportunities.

Strengthening Data-Driven Decision Making and Long-Term Strategy

In addition to restructuring its investment divisions, IGIS Asset Management is also enhancing its company-wide analytical capabilities by launching the IGIS Data Lab (D-lab). This unit will analyze proprietary investment and market data to support more sophisticated, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Furthermore, the firm has reinforced the independence of key strategic divisions that shape IGIS Asset Management’s long-term corporate direction. The Space Content Division, previously part of the Investment Division, will now operate independently, focusing on enhancing user-centered space solutions within IGIS Asset Management’s portfolio. The Future Strategy Center, formerly part of the Capital Markets Division, will function as a standalone corporate strategy unit, responsible for formulating investment and business strategies at the enterprise level.
